Cart & Wishlist

Reviewing and editing your cart, applying a coupon, and saving products to your wishlist for later.

Your cart holds what you're about to buy; your wishlist holds what you might buy later. Both work whether you're signed in or not — a guest cart is remembered in your browser and merges into your account cart automatically if you log in.

The cart

Open the cart from the mini-cart icon in the header (a dropdown preview of your cart) or go to the full Cart page to see everything at once.

What you can do in your cart

  • Change an item's quantity or remove it — the total recalculates immediately.
  • Apply a coupon code, and remove it again if you change your mind.
  • See a free-shipping progress bar showing how much more to add to qualify for free shipping (if the merchant offers it).
  • Choose a pickup location for in-store or local pickup, on stores that offer it.
  • Turn on gift wrap and add a personal message, on stores that offer it — the toggle stays available all the way through checkout if you change your mind.

Applying a coupon

Enter the coupon code in the field on the cart page and submit. If it's valid, the discount is applied to your subtotal immediately and shown as a separate line. Invalid or expired codes show an error instead of silently failing.

A store promotion can also take you to a link such as /cart?coupon=WELCOME20. The cart waits until your saved items are ready, then applies that code once. Codes are trimmed and treated without regard to letter case. The same link works when it first opens checkout: the storefront applies the code to the shared cart before calculating the checkout summary.

If a linked code is invalid, expired, exhausted, or not eligible for the current cart, the page stays usable and shows a dismissible message explaining that the coupon could not be applied. It does not repeat the same application or notification every time the page updates. You can dismiss the message, change the cart if needed, and enter another code normally.

Copy versus Apply

An offer may provide Copy, Apply, or both. Copy puts the code on your clipboard so you can paste it later. Apply opens the cart and attempts the coupon through the link flow above. Inside the page-builder preview, coupon actions copy the code but do not change a real cart.

For custom storefront integrations

Dispatch bb:apply-coupon with event detail { code } to use the same cart application flow; a plain string detail is also accepted. A landing renderer host can provide onApplyCoupon(code) and onCopyCouponCode(code). Apply should navigate through the /cart?coupon=CODE flow, while Copy should use the storefront's clipboard and notification handling. These hooks do not bypass coupon eligibility checks.

Prices update in real time

Every change — quantity, coupon, removing an item — recalculates your subtotal and total on the cart page immediately, without needing to refresh or move to checkout first. Items sold by weight or measure show Pending while their quantity's price is being calculated, then show the quoted total.

If a bundle in your cart has been updated, a notice shows the new price. Select Accept new price to use the updated bundle price.

Choose delivery or store pickup

When the store and every product in your bag allow pickup, select Pick up in store and choose an active location. If there is exactly one eligible location, the cart selects it automatically, so checkout already knows where you will collect the order. With more than one, select the location you want before continuing.

Pickup applies to the whole bag. If you add a delivery-only product after choosing pickup, the cart returns to delivery, clears the selected location, and shows Store pickup isn't available for everything in your bag, so this order will be delivered. The same note appears in the cart drawer and at checkout. Remove the delivery-only item and the note clears once the updated bag is eligible again; you can then select Pick up in store again.

Each location is also checked against what is in your bag. A location that can't cover every item at the quantity you have appears greyed out with Not in stock at this location for your cart and can't be chosen; the other locations stay selectable. Changing a quantity or removing an item re-checks the locations, so one that was greyed out can become available again. If no location can cover the bag, the cart switches to delivery, clears the location, and shows the same Store pickup isn't available for everything in your bag, so this order will be delivered. note.

Why did my order switch from pickup to delivery?

There are two possible reasons. Either at least one product in the bag is delivery-only, or no pickup location has stock for everything in the bag at the quantities you chose. Remove the delivery-only item, or lower quantities or remove the item that no location can cover, then choose Pick up in store again. If pickup still does not appear, the store may have disabled it or may not have an active pickup location.

When an item in your cart is no longer available

If a product, or the size or colour you picked, is switched off by the store after you added it, the item stays in your cart instead of disappearing. On the Cart page:

  • A banner at the top reads Some items are no longer available, with Remove unavailable items to continue. underneath.
  • The item's line shows a notice under its name: This option is no longer available when only the size or colour you chose was switched off, or This product is no longer available when the whole product was. Its amount is struck through, it is marked Unavailable, and it is excluded from your total.
  • The Remove control on that line keeps working.
  • The checkout button is greyed out and cannot be clicked, with Remove unavailable items to continue. shown under it. If checkout is triggered anyway, you get the same message as a notice and are not taken to checkout. On a multi-step cart layout, only the final step is blocked.

Remove each unavailable line and the banner, the strike-through, and the block all clear on their own. If the item was only out of stock rather than switched off, it shows Out of stock or Low stock as before and does not block checkout this way.

Why can't I check out?

Look for a line marked Unavailable anywhere in the cart, including below the fold. Remove it and the checkout button becomes active again. If every line is unavailable, the cart has nothing left to buy; add another product.

When a measured item needs a new quantity

Items sold by weight or measure have a minimum amount and a step (for example 0.5 kg at a time). If the store changes those rules after you added the item, and your saved amount is now below the minimum or between steps, the cart does not quietly charge a different amount. On the Cart page:

  • The line shows the notice Quantity rules changed. Remove this line and add it again. under its name, and the same unavailable banner and Unavailable marking described above.
  • Its amount shows Pending (struck through) instead of a price, and it adds nothing to your subtotal or total.
  • Its + and − buttons are inactive. Remove still works.
  • The checkout button is greyed out with Remove unavailable items to continue. under it, as for any unavailable line.

Remove the line

Select Remove on the line with the notice. The banner and the checkout block clear once no unavailable lines are left.

Add the product again

Open the product, choose a quantity that fits the minimum and step shown on the page, and select Add to cart. The new line is priced for that exact quantity.

Check the total and continue

Wait until the line shows its amount instead of Pending, then continue to checkout.

The same Pending amount appears for that line in the checkout order summary if you reach it. If a measured line stays on Pending without the notice, the price for that quantity has not arrived yet; reload the cart and wait a moment.

Bundles in your cart

Rolling out: not yet available on all stores

Bundles are switched off by default. Until the store has them enabled, you will not see anything on this page. See Product Bundles for how the merchant sets them up.

When you add a bundle from its bundle page, a product page or a bundle section, its items appear together as one group in the Cart page and in the cart drawer. On the Cart page, bundle groups follow the cart heading. Each component appears once inside its group; items bought separately remain ordinary cart lines outside the groups:

  • The group shows the bundle name (with a multiplier such as x2 when you have more than one set), a Save chip with what you save, and each item with its price before and after the bundle saving.
  • The set stepper (Decrease bundles / Increase bundles) changes how many sets you buy, and Remove bundle removes the whole group.
  • The summary has a Bundle savings row. It is informational: the amount has no minus sign because the subtotal and total already include the saving, so do not subtract it again.
  • Inside a bundle group the individual items have no quantity stepper or remove button, so you cannot change or remove a single item; use the set stepper or Remove bundle. If the items in the cart stop matching the bundle, the group shows This bundle was changed with a Restore button: its items stay in the cart as normal lines at their regular prices and the bundle price stops applying until you press Restore. Changing the number of sets on a changed bundle is refused until you restore it.
  • If the store edits the bundle after you added it, a notice reads "(bundle name) was updated. The new price is ..." with Accept new price. You must accept it before you can pay.

A coupon that is limited to bundles, or that excludes bundles, shows This code only applies to specific bundles. Add one of those bundles to use it. or This code does not apply to bundles. It only works on items outside a bundle. when it cannot apply to your cart.

Quantity discounts

If the quantity you're buying qualifies for a bulk-pricing tier the store has set up, the cart shows your discounted unit price next to the pre-tier price (struck through), plus a note such as "10% off for 5+". This comes straight from the server's price calculation on your cart — it's never guessed by your browser — so the same struck-through price and note follow the item through to the checkout order summary. If you don't see a discount, either the item has no quantity tier or your current quantity doesn't reach one yet.

Your cart is saved

Your cart persists between visits — a guest cart is tied to your browser; a signed-in cart is tied to your account, so it follows you across devices once you log in.

The wishlist

The wishlist requires an account — tap the heart icon on any product to add it, and you'll be prompted to log in first if you haven't already.

Go to Wishlist to see everything you've saved. From there you can:

  • Move to cart — adds the item to your cart directly from the wishlist.
  • Add all to cart — moves every item on your wishlist into your cart in one click. Any item that's out of stock, or where you already hold the maximum available quantity in your cart, is skipped rather than blocking the rest.
  • Remove — takes it off your wishlist.
  • Sort your wishlist — by date added (the default), or another option the store's template offers.
  • Share your wishlist using your device's native share sheet, on devices/browsers that support it.
