Your Personal Account & Profile
Your name, contact details, password, and a log of your own recent account activity — separate from your store's settings.
Your Profile manages your personal identity on the platform, separate from your store's settings — the things that belong to you as a person, not to the business.
Screen: click your name or avatar in the top bar to open Profile.
The screen is organized into three tabs.
Overview tab
Shows your full name, email address, phone number, and your role in the system (for example, Administrator). Click Edit Profile to update your name or phone number — your email address is your login identity and can't be changed from here.
On the new admin sidebar, the name and avatar at the top of the Profile screen come from your saved
name. If you have not saved a name, the name shown is built from the part of your email before the
@, with dots, dashes and underscores turned into spaces and each word capitalised (for example,
vijay.anand@example.com shows as Vijay Anand), and the avatar takes its initials from that
(VA). If there is neither a name nor an email, the avatar shows a plain person icon instead of
blank initials. Saving a name through Edit Profile replaces the email-based name.
Avatar upload — coming soon (classic sidebar only)
On the classic sidebar, a camera icon sits over your avatar at the top of this tab. It's not functional yet — hovering it shows a "Coming soon" tooltip, and clicking it does nothing. On the new admin sidebar, this icon isn't shown at all. On both skins, your avatar today is generated from your initials and can't be replaced with an uploaded photo.
Security tab
Change your password: enter your current password, then your new password twice for confirmation. The tab also shows the date you last changed your password, so you always know how recent it is.
Open Change Password
On the Security tab, click Change Password.
Enter your current and new password
Fill in your current password, then your new password, then confirm it a second time.
Save
Submit the form. If the two new-password entries don't match, you'll see an inline error before anything is saved.
Below Change Password, a Two-Factor Authentication card is visible with a "Coming soon" chip and the description "Add an extra layer of security to your account." It isn't enabled or configurable yet — there's nothing to turn on here today.
Connected accounts (Google)
Go to Profile → Security. Beneath the Two-Factor card, a Connected accounts card shows whether your own Admin Panel account can sign in with Google. It appears on both skins and for every team member. Google sign-in for the Admin Panel is not plan-gated: it works on every plan, including Free. (The separate switch that lets your customers use Google on the storefront is a plan feature — see Settings → Customer sign-in.)
| Card shows | Button | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Google is not connected | Connect Google | Takes you to Google to choose an account, then returns you to Profile → Security with the message "Google account connected." |
| Google connected as your Google email (partly hidden) | Disconnect Google | Opens Disconnect Google? — "You will no longer be able to sign in with Google. You can still sign in with your password." Select Disconnect Google to confirm, or Cancel. A message confirms "Google account disconnected." |
| Checking… | none yet | Shown briefly while the card loads your connection. |
Open the card
Sign in to the Admin Panel, open Profile, then the Security tab, and find Connected accounts.
Select Connect Google
Google opens and asks you to choose an account. Pick the Google account you want to use for sign-in.
Return to your profile
You land back on Profile → Security. The message "Google account connected." appears and the card now reads Google connected as followed by your Google email.
Connecting never switches your account. The Google account is attached to the admin account you are already signed in as — your session is not replaced, and you are not asked for a password. The Google email does not have to match your Admin Panel email. If it differs, a second message says "You can now sign in with" that Google email "too." From then on the Sign In screen's Continue with Google button signs you in as this admin account.
If Google cannot be connected, you come back to Profile → Security and the card shows the reason (the message disappears once you refresh the page):
| Message on the card | What it means and what to do |
|---|---|
| "Connecting Google was cancelled. You can try again." | You closed or declined the Google screen. Select Connect Google again. |
| "Google has not verified the email on that account, so it can't be connected." | Google reports that email as unverified. Verify it with Google, or choose another Google account. |
| "That Google account is already connected to another BillionBiz admin account." | One Google account can belong to only one admin account. Disconnect it from the other account first, or use a different Google account. |
| "A Google account is already connected to your profile. Disconnect it first to connect a different one." | Your profile holds one Google account at a time. Select Disconnect Google, then connect the other one. |
| "Connecting Google isn't available right now. Please try again later." | Google sign-in is temporarily unavailable. Try again later. |
| "We couldn't connect that Google account." | A general failure. Try again; if it repeats, contact support. |
If the Connect Google button itself fails to start Google, a toast says "Could not start connecting your Google account." and nothing changes.
Disconnect Google is disabled until your admin account has a password. If you only ever signed in with Google, the button is greyed out and the note "Set a password first so you can still sign in" appears under the row, because removing Google would leave you with no way in. Set a password first (use Forgot? on the Sign In screen to receive a reset link), reload Profile → Security, and the button becomes available. If a disconnect is still refused for this reason, the card shows "Set a password before disconnecting Google, or you won't be able to sign in." and nothing changes.
Disconnecting only removes the Google shortcut — your password keeps working, and you can connect Google again at any time. A failed disconnect shows "Could not disconnect your Google account." and changes nothing. Connecting is per store account: if your email is on more than one store, connect Google once for each. If the card can't check your connection it shows Google is not connected.
Troubleshooting: the Sign In screen says no admin account exists for my Google email
The Sign In screen's Google button signs in an existing admin account; it never creates one. When Google's email has no admin account behind it, you see "No BillionBiz admin account exists for that Google email. Ask your store owner to invite you, or sign in with your password." Two fixes: (1) ask your store owner to invite you, then accept the invite; or (2) sign in with your password first, then use Profile → Security → Connect Google to attach the Google account you want to use (it may have a different email). See Signing In, Password Reset & Team Invites.
Activity tab
A log of recent events on your own account — logins and profile updates — giving you visibility into your personal account history. This is scoped to you specifically; for store-wide activity across your whole team, see Activity Log and Audit Logs.
Note
Display preferences like theme and admin language live under Settings → Preferences, not here — Profile is about your identity and account security, Preferences is about how the dashboard looks and behaves for you.
