Workflows & Automation (Preview)

A first look at the no-code automation engine BillionBiz is building — trigger, condition, and action rules, shown here as a preview of what's coming.

Preview only — not yet active

Workflows automation is not yet active. The screen shows representative examples only to illustrate the direction the platform is heading. You cannot create, edit, or run a live automation from this screen today — treat everything below as a preview of what's coming, not a how-to.

Screen: Plugins → Workflows.

The idea

The automation engine is designed to let you link store events to actions without writing any code — for example, "when a customer abandons their cart, wait two hours, then send a recovery email." Each workflow is built from three parts:

  • A trigger — an event (like "cart abandoned") or a schedule (like "daily at 9am").
  • Conditions (optional) — a check before acting, like "only if no order was placed since."
  • One or more actions — send an email, create a request, update a status, and similar.

Illustrative examples shown today

The screen currently displays three example workflows to demonstrate what the finished feature will look like. These are static demonstrations, not live automations you can toggle:

Examples on the screen

  • Abandoned Cart Recovery — waits 2 hours after a cart is abandoned, sends a recovery email, then follows up 24 hours later with a discount code if the order still hasn't been placed.
  • Low Stock Alert — checks inventory daily at 9:00am, and when a product falls below its threshold, notifies admins, logs a reorder request, and marks the product low-stock.
  • Welcome Email Series — after a new customer registers, sends a welcome email, follows up 3 days later with product recommendations, and 7 days later with a first-purchase discount.

What's coming

When automation launches, the plan is for merchants to create, enable, disable, and monitor workflows entirely within the dashboard, with a visual builder that shows each workflow's trigger → condition → action flow so the logic is readable at a glance.

Coming soon: multi-step flows and templates

Open the Workflows screen (Plugins → Workflows, classic and new admin). Directly under the page header, the statistics and any notice at the top, and above your lists of workflows, there is a Coming soon section. It carries a Coming soon badge and is headed Win back abandoned carts automatically. Its text reads: "Today you can save simple trigger rules here. Multi-step flows with delays, emails and coupons are coming." A single button, Email waitlist request, opens a pre-addressed email to contact@billionbiz.store. There is no separate sidebar entry or page for the planned builder, and no release date.

Beside that text (below it on a narrow screen), a static picture marked Preview, sample data shows what is planned. You cannot click anything in it:

  • A five-step flow. An Abandoned Cart Recovery example: a Trigger, Cart abandoned; a Condition, Cart value ≥ ₹1,500; a Delay, Wait 24 hours; an Action, Send reminder email; and an Action, Create 10% coupon. The ₹1,500 amount is sample data.
  • A "Start from a template" card. It lists five templates: Abandoned Cart Recovery, Order Confirmation, Welcome Series, Re-engagement Campaign, and "Ask for a review after delivery", each with a one-line description.

What is real behind it:

  • The builder itself is not available. Today the Workflows screen uses a two-step form (Basic Details, then Target Audience & Logic), not a drag-and-drop canvas.
  • The templates are the ones the automation engine ships. The picture's flow and template names are taken from them.
  • Actions run in a log-only test mode for now. The new automation engine's actions (email, SMS, coupon, tag, order update) are recorded as if they had run, but nothing is actually sent or created, so a flow built on it does not email, text, or issue a coupon to a real customer yet.

Why you may not see this section

  • Your plan does not include Workflows. The whole /workflows page sits behind the Workflows plan feature. On a plan without it, you get a plan-locked notice instead of the page, so the Coming soon section is not shown either.
  • Your login is not an admin. The page opens only for Admin and Super Admin logins.
